MCAT Test Registration
Students have to register for the MCAT test online only. The registration site is made available for students about 8 to 12 weeks before the actual test dates. Since the seats are allocated on first come basis, students are advised to complete their registration as early as possible so that that they are allotted the centers of their choice. Students registering late may not be able to take the test on their preferred date or at their preferred test site. The MCAT exam is offered at 13 international test sites located across Australia, England, France, Germany, India, and Japan.
Online Registrations for the MCAT test begins as early as January each year. Students can register for the MCAT test online on the website www.aamc.org/mcat or by visiting the link www.aamc.org/students/mcat/registration.htm. Students are advised to take their MCAT test at least 18 months ahead of applying for medical colleges. This is to ensure that there is adequate time limit before preparing for college admission and if necessary retake the MCAT.
Though there is no restriction on the number of times a student wishes to retake the MCAT, it is not advisable to retake the MCAT without valid reason. Special permit from the AAMC is need by students wishing to retake the MCAT above 3 attempts.
Payments for the online registration have to be made though credit card. The MasterCard or VISA cards are acceptable by the MCAT registration council.
Students are required to create a login id and a valid password during registration for the MCAT exam. The details entered by the students are available until submission or the expiry of the registration deadline. The admission tickets are sent to the students through mail a few weeks before the testing date.
registration for Sunday Testing
Students unable to take the MCAT exam on Saturdays due to personal or religious reasons can request for the test to be administered on Sunday. Students requesting for a Sunday test will have to take it on the immediate Sunday following the Saturday administration.
Registrations for Sunday examinations require the students to submit a written request stating the reasons for not taking the MCAT on Saturday and an additional fee of $10.00 along with the completed registration materials. The registration deadline for the Sunday testing is the same as the regular Saturday testing. Late registration fee is applicable if the registration is not complete within the deadline date of regular registration.
Late Registration Deadline
Students registering during the late registration period are required to submit the following documents before the expiry of the late registration deadline.
- The completed registration materials
- The registration fee and an additional 50$ nonrefundable late fee.
Students registering during the late registration period should send in their registration materials via certified or express mail or a courier service to the address exclusively provided for the same. Student will not be able to get the centers of their choice to take their MCAT while registering during the late registration period. Request
