LSAT Test

The Law School Admission Council, Inc, a nonprofit company with members at more than 200 law schools in the United States and Canada, administers the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) four times a year internationally. It is a regularized test that takes about half a day to complete. It is helpful in evaluating the students’ reading and verbal reasoning skills

Almost all ABA-approved law schools, most Canadian law schools, and many non-ABA-approved law schools have made the LSAT Test scores a requisite for admission. Though most law schools call for the LSAT to be taken by December for fall admission, it is highly recommended that the students take the test earlier during the months of June or October.

The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a multiple-choice test administered in fie sections. The test has a sixth section, which is an essay portion, which is not scored but is sent to the various colleges that the student wishes to apply for admission. It is high-stakes exam that tests the students’ ability to think through problems tactically with a focus on logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, and critical reading.

There are two logical reasoning sections, one reading comprehension section, one logical games section and one un-scored experimental section that could be any of the section types already mentioned. The sixth section is the un-scored essay portion. Each of the sections are 35 minutes except for the essay portion which is 30 minutes long.

The test is deliberately planned in a way that no average person could comfortably complete all questions in the allotted time period. Hence students are advised to take practice tests using a timer. This is helpful in attaining a time management technique by the student
