IELTS TEST

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) evaluates candidates’ general English communication skills. The students are tested on all four-language skills in English language such as listening, reading, writing and speaking.

IELTS has been administered since 1989 and has proven to be trusted worldwide, to supply a protected, international, genuine and customer-focused test, which calculates the students’ ability to communicate in English. Over 3800 educational institutions, government agencies and professional organizations across 120 countries around the world identify IELTS scores as a reliable and convincing pointer of skills to communicate in English.

The IELTS is one of the best rising English language tests in the world with around 500,000 tests taken every year and hence lays down the standard in reliability, investigation and originality.

Most UK universities and other institutions requires applicants to provide an appraisal of the applicant's standard of English being offered admission to a course of study. Some of the immigration authorities in quite a few countries necessitate the applicants to take the IELTS test. The test takes a whole day to complete and costs about DKK 1650. Candidates will receive their results two weeks from the test date.

The IELTS matches the highest international standards of language assessment.

IELTS is acknowledged for course admission by universities in many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK and increasingly in Germany and wider Europe. The immigration authorities of Australia, New Zealand and Canada require the IELTS scores of the applicants as proof of their language abilities.

The 2 versions of the IELTS test are:

  • The Academic Module
  • The General Training Module.

The Academic Module is generally for people aspiring to pursue an Academic Course in English and the General Training Module is typically for people wanting to follow a non-academic course or for immigration

The 4 organizations that administers the IELTS are:

University of Cambridge ESOL Exams

The British Council

IDP Education Australia

IELTS Australia

Apart from the international immigration services using the IELTS many professional organizations including the British and Australian Medical Councils and the UK Ministry of Defense make use of the IELTS.
